Q: How to protect the headphone jack (avoid snapped or bent headphone jack)? Do I need a "Headphone Jack Protector"?
A: The headphone jack has insulated rings to separate the sound channels. Those rings cannot be made by metal, therefore, it is the weakest part of the jack by its nature. In order to avoid the snapped or bent jacks in the audio port, please kindly inform the users (especially younger users):
- when inserting the headphone jack into the audio port, please insert the headphone jack completely (NOT half way inside the audio port);
- when removing the headphone jack out of the audio port, please hold the jack and remove it straight out. Please do not pull the cable to remove the headphone jack, especially do not pull the cable or bend the plug when the plug is half way inside the audio port. It will break or bend the audio plug.
- in some circumstances, even the jack is fully plugged in, if the headphone jack is hit very hard (eg, iPad drops to the floor and the jack hit the floor first), the headphone jack could also bent.
These situations are not covered by warranty. Please kindly understand. The “headphone jack protector” has been proven to be able to minimize this snap/bent jack problem, therefore, if your school has young children that may not be able to look after the headphone jacks carefully, we recommend to use the "headphone jack protector".
